I will be taking my boys (6-8-10) hunting here in a couple weeks. Looking more to get them to love hunting more than looking for trophies. Any input would be appreciated. Where to start? Where to park? Are there any places to avoid? If anyone has been here, is it packed with hunters? The boys would love a hog just as much as a deer, they just want to get out there. We will be camping in the Hanks Creek campground and thought that the wilderness looked like a good place to go. Is there better places in the Angelina Forest? Thanks for any input. BTW, they will not be shooting, just me.

You are leaving a legacy, is it one you will be proud of?

I'd be a little leary taking my young sons around some hunters I'm not familiar with.

2cents snake oil, makes valid point. Know young lady who got acciently shot several years back on public.
confused2 yet, very rare, can be more vilance in school's, bullying, now its shootings.
bang guess i was bad parent. We hunted WMA, preparing for lives juorny. Can teach them good ethics, for future.
Hunted several WMA's, no experiance with, Angelina Forest.
This forum can be educational. Lots of debates, start out as discission, hammer get lock-down .
Safety vests, good ethics, tis open ta public, so know rules. U might set example.

Safe Hunting, sir.
