Damn thing took off with a decoy. Have had them do flybys but never land, jack with one, and take flight with it. I didn't see the decoy until the bird was pretty high in the air.

I guess they are realistic decoys. I bet it was tough eating.

I guess they are realistic decoys. I bet it was tough eating. I put out 3 styles today out of convenience. Some were nice. The bird went after the cheapest decoy in the box. This one in particular was missing the clothes line clip. When the clips wont glue back on, I run a 14" piece of clothes hanger wire though the back to stick in the ground. The hawk had to work on that damn decoy for a while to pull it free from the ground. The wire is what caught my eye as it flew off.

had a copper hawk strike a coot decoy, rolled and string pulled on the bird. Sat on the back in a puzzled glaze on the bird pulling back. It did puncture two neat small holes in the back of the decoy. Cool too see you pics

This weekend I had a Coopers hawk dive down on a dove I had just shot. It was up in a tree above me. It hit it before the dove hit the ground and then tried to carry it off. It landed and was about to eat so I stood up to shoo it off. was a pretty cool sight, last thing I expected to see.
Adult late onset hunter. Why did I wait so long to get started?
