Has anyone tried out the Vortex Laser Rangefinder Binos? Any opinions or impressions?
They are definitely not cheap, but are still around 1/3 the price of Leica's or Zeiss's, and I have been impressed with all the other vortex products I have seen.
I sure like the idea of a single bino/rangefinder unit, and would sure like to hear from anyone who owns or has tried the Vortex unit.
Thanks!

Nick, I recently picked up a pair. They are okay. Optically they are no comparison to my Razors. The Range finder is nice, fast and accurate. I just unboxed them over the weekend. Still some things I need to check out. I can tell you the first thing that was off putting was I noticed that objective lenses are right at the edge of the body.
I have some more testing I want to do, but just out of the box, I would say they are a fair option. So far, I'm liking the Nikon Laserforce more, but I'm not done with Vortex yet.

Judd has a pair of Vortex Fury, and I borrowed them for 5 days.. The glass was good, the laser was accurate within 3 yards to 800 yards. I could make out tree canopy detail, 350 yards away, 20 minutes after sun down. I wouldn't pay retail for them, but if you came in under $1k, you're doing alright.
I traded for some 10X Leica Geovids recently, and the glass is phenomenal! A week ago, we were carefully glassing the canyon walls over a thousand yards away, and did not want for any more clarity. In July, I could clearly see bullet trace with them. They do not angle compensate and there are newer releases out. If you could pick up some used Geovids, you're spending your money more wisely. Street price on those is $1k.

I agree with FJG on this. The Fury I used was okay optically, rangefinder adequate, but not outstanding. The Nikon LRF bino was better in every aspect......RF was faster, glass noticeably better. They actually appear to be carbon copies of each other with the exception of the speed of Nikon's rangefinder. The best reason to buy the Vortex is the lifetime warranty on everything, including the electronics.
As FJG also brought up, I bought a like new demo Geovid from Doug at Cameraland for $1100 a couple of months ago. It is the 2000 yard model HDB. I'm not a huge Leica guy, but this is a fantastic unit. I've ranged things out to 1800 yds with it so far, it's quick, accurate, and the glass is outstanding as well. Very sharp, easy to focus, smooth, just a great overall unit. Optically it's not quite a Swarovision, but it isn't far off, it's all you can ask from a binocular no matter who makes it. Doug at Cameraland is the ONLY place to buy Leica stuff. IF you ever have problems with repair, warranty work, etc, Doug will go to bat for you, and that's a huge positive.
Good luck with it.
