I recently purchased an N960, and was wondering if anyone else that’s used one can provide any input on the idiosyncrasies of this model. I’m moving up the from a Photon XT, and was hoping what I learn here may help spontaneous concerns/issues in the field. Thanks in advance.

No, but unlike most other night optics, there is little out there to get one acquainted with the unit, and even less showing it being used...unless you speak Russian. I always read a lot of NV related threads and usually there’s a quirk in most every system, or problems with real world uses...such as humidity, losing zero, distortion, video/audio problems, etc. Since I can’t find anything that would assist me in anticipating problems and resolutions, this was the next logical step. Given that the internet, and especially Facebook, are full of self proclaimed experts, at least here on the THF I’ve learned over time and in some cases experience, who is full of crap and who isn’t. You’re a good example, DNS...if you offered your advice or opinion on a nv optic, I know it comes with quantitative authority backed up by real world experience. If I ask the same question on a FB hunting or optics page, I’d probably get 147 junior high punks who’ve never even shot a gun trying to give me their opinions and advice.

I did some checking as well. You are right, not much out there. I assume that corresponds with there not being a whole lot of people with this model.
Congratulations! You get to be a pathfinder!
