6000 acres in north east Texas, no feeders. 4 properties in south central Oklahoma where we hunt the most, about 2000 acres, no feeders. Most we will do is hand corn an area once in a while. Shot my biggest to date last year on a property we put out no corn on, no crops, just some bermuda grass and very little timber, 200 head of cattle fed with round bales.

I run 5 on roughly 350 acres. I have two blinds and run 3 at one and 2 at the other. I like two feeders per area for contingency purposes. Nothing worse that going to hunt and finding that you’re feeder has been down for weeks.

Crazy all the posts with feeders for every 50 acres +/-. Every place is different, depends on the ground. Some of the areas that I hunt is Thick Thick brush country. In thick country there’s nothing really crazy about one feeder per 50 acres.

One of the tracts I hunt on is 120 acres. We have 2 blinds with 2 feeders on each separated by a pond. Most years we are in drought status. Those extra feeders are a huge benefit to wildlife when the ground is dried to a crisp, along with the water One of the best properties I’ve ever hunted was a thick 50 acre tract that had 2 blinds on it, with 2 feeders on each blind with a small pond. What works in deep S Tx does not work so well in other parts of the state that gets rain all the time.

Hill Country you can put 2 on 50 acres and because there are so many deer there will different deer hitting each. Can easily have have 20-25 deer coming in and out of a 50 acre tract (1 deer per 2-3 acres). I hunt another place in South Texas and there is only about 80 deer on 800 acres (1 deer per 10 acres) so feeders are spread out (Have about 5). If 2 were put on 50 acres in OUR South Texas Place you would get the same deer.

That’s a broad statement about S Tx, and incorrect for many areas.

I put 1 feeder trough near the house so as not to go far and one after a 100 acres. For a day, a maximum of 2 deer was trapped by me and 1 by my wife. Found some reviews on deer feeders. Now I'm testing the new Moultrie Pro Magnum Hanging Deer Feeder. While I like it.

9000 acres - 26 protein stations free choice - around 60 cottonseed feeders free choice - around 35 corn feeders - we feed 50 tons of cottonseed per year and 70 tons of protein on average each year.

I was on a 400ish acre lease up in Baylor County for a couple of years, but the main hunting area was about 250 acres. Other hunters on the lease had been on it for several years before I joined and they had 9 feeders placed and suggested I add at least 2 more. I thought this was too much and we would have been much better served backing that number down to maybe a strategic 5.
I bought a place on the smaller size about 5 years ago and have two feeders running year round, but know if I sling for more than a few seconds a days each, all I am doing is fattening the raccoons, so I feed for 2 seconds each in morning/evening. I almost never have two hunters out at same time, so have options on where to hunt based on wind, time of day, pressure, etc. This seems to work for me and I almost never fail to see deer on a sit.
Dalroo Deep in the Heart of Texas How about that Brandon!

I run 6 feeders on 144 acres. 4 Spin feeders w/corn, 1 spin feeder with DoubleDown protein and 1 free choice feeder w/ DoubleDown protein. (1 blind w/ 1 corn spin feeder and 1 DoubleDown spin feeder) (1 blind with 1 corn spin feeder and 1 free choice DoubleDown) (2 blinds with corn spin feeders only) Over the past 20 years, the success rate has been about the same for every blind.
Old age and treachery beats youth and stupid every time!
