I just taped a section of an old vacuum cleaner hose to my scope base instead.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.

I like the top end Ziess glass. If your priority is glass for hunting the victory ht scopes are exceptional. I judge them as equal to my Swarovski scopes.

I'm not a Zeiss fan at all. The turrets are bass akwards (they turn backwards from most everything else), odd adjustments (inch per 100 yards, or 1/3 cm), and most of the scopes do not have a parallax adjustment, which I have personally seen an issue with at longer ranges. And, they have hardly any internal adjustment range for dialing or getting a proper zero. There has been several cases where we could not get a proper 100 yard zero with the scope (no canted base). But as some hunters say, "But they have great glass!!" Ok, I'm sure they do, but they are not for me.

Zeiss V6 Is a great scope. It has nice turrets, a parallax adjustment, 30mm tube with plenty of travel. They now offer better reticle to choose from and the glass has improved. They Fixed all the weak points the HD5.

I like what they offer thats nicer than the Terra.

Yep, I like them...guess I am in the minority...first time for everything, I guess. Nice glass, will hold a zero, great dawn to dusk, easy to set up and sight in...but hey, maybe I just get lucky, I dont pretend to know. Hope this helps.

Love them. Own 5 of the Conquest DL scopes. Have looked through the V4 and V6 also. Wouldn't recommend a Terra model.

I can tell you I thought buying a zeiss even though it was a terra model moved me up a notch or two in optics from nikon but I was wrong.

I have the last generation Conquest 2.5-8x32 that was assembled in the US by Meopta. That is a great scope with one of the best all around duplexes. The z plex in that model is extra thick with fine crosshairs. It works great for targets and dark timber. Glass is really nice. I believe they ran about $350 10 years ago. They were a great value.
