x5 You can also get some Permethrin and spray your boots / hunting clothes and allow product to dry. It has @ 6 week effectiveness and will even retain the product through a couple of wash cycles. NOT for skin application but the thermacell will help with that. Scent free once dry. This

Anything that you guys use to keep em off while hunting that the smell wont spook deer???? Thermacell is the ticket. I wouldn't worry too much about the smell. If the deer can smell your mosquito repellent they can also smell you....

You can put me in that group that touts the value of a Thermacell. I just hope breathing that stuff while sitting in a ground blind or in a tree stand doesn’t one day make my skin turn green.

I am one of those who has never used a Thermacell...seems like a gimmick but apparently it works according to everyone here.

I am one of those who has never used a Thermacell...seems like a gimmick but apparently it works according to everyone here. No gimmick. We got 22" of rain last weekend, water everywhere and thousands of BIG mosquitos trying to get in the house. Open & close front door, and there's 10-15 or more that made it in with you. Add 4 kids doing the same thing and I damn near grabbed my shotgun, many are the size of quarters. Engage Thermacell, set outside by front door, no more skeeters coming in unless attached.

do those work on gnats? I used to have one of the earlier models that I used while dove hunting but didn't seem to put a dent in gnats.

Yep. I'd recommend one of these as well so you can store extra butane and pads. It also has a clip on the back. If in a pop up blind, I clip it to the edge of the window. If in a tree, I clip it to my backpack. I don't have the camo version but it looks nice. Holder Go ahead and order some pad/butane refills while you're on Amazon. They make pads that have the fresh earth scent impregnated in them as well that I like.
