Today after checking my hog trap I went walking around to see if i could find a rabbit or something that moved so i could squeeze of a round or two from my new AR. On our land there is an old home stead back in the thick stuff and i managed to get back to it. I was looking around at lots of the old stuff and heard the leaves start moving and twigs snapping I looked up and saw three Yote pups. It was kinda neat and didnt shoot any of them. So just wondering, how far would momma have been? they looked about the size of a Chihuahua or how ever you spell those yappy little things. And have you ever heard of someone catching one and making a pet outta one?

I had one for a pet. It died. Don't have a clue why. Was maybe 2-3 wks old when I caught it and lasted about 2 weeks.  I was out on my horse when I found it. Had a heck of a time getting back on w/ it in one hand. Horse did not see the humor. Between it trying to chew my arm off and the horse throwing fits all the way home it was a little western.

Drove into our driveway tonight that enters the property and 200 yards down the road was a yote walkin on the shoulder of the road! talk about disappointing.

Knew a guy that raised and trained one for a hog dog.Worked good and made a good fast good nosed dog.Get me one.

Saw a couple this time last year, funny looking little guys with those big ears, didn't hesitate to pop off a few shots, but it was late.

We (family) found one at Lake Texoma, when I was just a little kid. My cousin took it home to try and raise it. All I remember about it, was that it would howl and raise all kinds of cain at night. They ended up getting rid of it. There was a discussion about this over on Predator Master forums too.

I think between the yotes and hogs not to mention ants thats why we don't have any Quail around anymore!!

If you don't catch them then kill'em. If you do use a coon trap to get one then leave it in the trap for a while and let it get use to you before you try getting it out.

I knew a guy that had one...it was a mean sucker. Not friendly at all like a dog would be. It just snarled and kept to himslef. They also said it howled all night.
