From 7/15 - 9/15 the amount of deer coming to feeders is WAY WAY down. Even the regular nice bucks are gone. I'd say total deer down almost 50%.
I'm in SW Concho County and we've gotten crazy amounts of rain. Green and thick and acorns everywhere.
I'm guessing they just happy with natural food.

You bet they are. For the same reason, food plots are best hunted late in the season after there have been killing frosts and the acorns are long since gone. It’s the time I like to sweeten my plots with scattered corn. And because so many hunters have gotten a deer or given up, the woods are much more quiet too.

That's why it's called supplemental feeding

Nothing unusual at all. Happens every year at different times of the year. I have not had to fill protein feeders since June 23rd. I had 12" of rain in the 10 days after that. I had to turn spin feeders down to 1 sec twice per day. I had a ton of persimmons for weeks. I just had over 8" rain in the last 14 days and now acorns are starting to drop. With cooler temps and shorter days the corn feeders are being hit at night right now but up to 4 secs twice per day. I expect that to drop off as the acorns really start to drop. All the new green shoots are highly sought after by deer.

we have not had the rain mentioned this year. A week ago pasture grass was about gone and water tank drying up. Deer at feeder has been limited to spikes and young doe for the most part. Better movement this past week but the bigger bucks are not to be seen.

I checked cameras this weekend and one feeder hadn't had a buck in four weeks. Good news is I still have about seven democrats (does) looking for free handouts every day at that feeder.
