I got a new yellow lab out of Iowa. Very good bloodline. She is now about 5 months. I trained my last lab myself but now with 3 kids and a full time job, there isn't enough time to deal with training this one.

Who would you use in the North Texas area. Preferably within 45 minutes of Aledo area so I can go once a week and work with the trainer and dog. Knows sit, stay, and come. Needs force fetched and trained on the gun.

Thanks.

My lab is being trained as we speak at Cripple Creek Retrievers and they are doing a great job. I would recommend JC at Cripple Creek Retrievers as well.

There are a bunch of retriever trainers in the DFW area, not so many with in 45 minutes of Aledo.
My suggestion is to do some research, like you're doing, and go visit the top 4 or 5 that you see.
take a look at their dogs working and attitude, kennel situation, etc.
Be cautious of pros with tons of dogs, dogs with bad attitudes, small kennel areas, etc.
A few of the pros are good. Just because someone says they're a "pro" doesn't mean they're any good.

Good luck.
