Gonna be muddy near Throckmorton and rainy rest of this week and weekend.
Small cool front coming in Friday...fingers crossed it might make a difference.

I hope it comes a flood, have to swim to the Dove fields. It's bone dry out here, ponds are low, couple of my ponds are dry that's never been dry. No grass for cows, going to have to sell some if we don't get rain pretty dang fast. I need rain and lots of it in a bad way.

i've been seeing good reports of numbers up north in Seymour and Wichita Falls. Hopefully the fronts bring em down, cuz they certainly weren't there like i've seen before. Hunting west of Woodson as well.

I’m going anyway. Never gonna complain about rain out west. Got 2 inches at my place in Murray. All the rain was between 578 and Woodson. Woodson, bone dry and just east of Breck got a bunch of rain Sunday. Dove in pretty good numbers west of Throckmorton Sunday and Monday. Headed back out Friday through Sunday AM. Could be messy but I'm betting on limits. That's why they make mud boots.

It's bee rainy and cool here near Austin. The numbers at my lease were poor last weekend, maybe some of those birds will make a trip down south.
Adult late onset hunter. Why did I wait so long to get started?

1.25" of rain here so far and still lightly raining. My guys are cooking steaks under the pavilion and enjoying a cold beverage. No one hunted this afternoon, too wet.

Its less about the hunt, and more about the adventure. You roasting marshmellows in the rain now? I had an adventure alright. I spent 5.5 hours trying to leave Dallas today so I was done. The rain put a fork in it. All of our food plot seed spilled all over the road when a pallet it was on fell over. Trailer brakes wouldn't work. They front loaded the trailer with 5,000 lbs of lime so couldn't go over 50 without bouncing all over the place. Couldn't see 10 feet in front of me in storm blowing 40 mph. That was my adventure.

See the great memories you are making. I'll get pics of the wheat and oats that will be growing on the concrete down the street after this rain. I did attempt to head to Breckenridge to buddies place in my own truck with no load but couldn't muster up driving 2.5 more hours in the rain so I bailed on that too. I ended the night with a big pile of fried shrimp and catfish from Big Shucks.

I don’t wanna see pics of that, that’s boring. I wanna see pics with a story of you stuck in a corn feild, those type memories... I am a weather geek so I am the first out of the field before everyone else gets stuck. Saved us hours waiting for a tractor before just watching the radar. Few years ago we had 5 or 6 vehicles get stuck. We flew out of the field sideways. Dang weather service nailed it all week. Started 7 am so didn't even get a shot off. Rained several inches. Some of the stranded ran their battery down too.

6" of rain in Throckmorton from Thurs AM to midday yesterday. Total rainout on Sat am. Managed some birds but the weather had them acting wacky Sat PM. Think they flew real early as soon as the rain slicked off. Brought some birds home, my truck is a mess !
