This is going to be only my second year hunting. I joined the forum last year. I need to clean my Marlin 60 22lr. There are A LOT of videos out there on how to do it but I see that there is also information that doesn't match up. I am not looking to do a breakdown of my rifle, just a cleaning. I have read where I should be concerned about doing damage to any plastic parts. Since I am new at this, I was hoping I could get some guidance. Advice, a link, etc. I know that this info is all over the web, but I still need some help. Is there a definitive method someone can point me to.

Thank you

For information on a specific rifle/firearm dish assembly, I'd highly suggest YouTube. Hopefully they have your specific one but I'm pretty sure there is a video on the marlin 60 disassembly.

Other than that, the best advice I have for a rifle is buy a one piece cleaning rod. I'm sure others will chime in.

A cleaning rod most be inserted from the muzzle end of the Model 60. That provides an opportunity to damage the rifles muzzle which can lead to accuracy problems.
For that reason, I suggest a "bore-snake" a pull thru cord which can be inserted thru the rifles chamber.
