They usually draw the day after the deadline. I assume they may not draw till Tuesday morning due the weekend/holiday. Anybody know if that’s the case ?

Weekend or holiday should not matter with a random, automated system operated by an AI, or is there a person taping keyboards for these selections. ???
I work with automated systems that automatically generate actions based on dates, or other parameters set up in the system. If the draw system is random and set up that way, the deadline date should trigger the system to make random selection and send out the email to those selected. I noticed there is always a delay, maybe quality control to avoid error? But, well, that failed earlier this year then.
Be nice to see how it works, how do I always get selected for areas not far from where I live, and if I only apply for areas hours away, I never get selected.

Anyone have an idea on the average number of years you have to apply before getting selected. Just asking because I have put in for multiple hunts for 7 years and not one permit. A guy who started putting in last year has won 6. 4 last year and 2 so far this year. Kinda makes it hard to keep donating I could have bought a hunt for any of these animals by now. $200 plus a year and not at least a tag once in awhile. Ok rant over but I do hope someone with the parks and wildlife see this and takes a good look at the process.

Those are the ones that I really hope to get picked. Good luck, it ain't over yet.

Am I understanding the hunt at Aransas NWR correctly? 300 permits with up to 4 hunters per permit on less than 20,000 acres. And it appears that each hunter has access to the entire property? Even with 3 separate hunt dates (100 groups per date), that is less than 50 acres per hunter?

I don’t know how much truth there is in this statement but I will tell the facts as I know. I was told by a gentleman this year that he would draw out on a certain tag. One with very low permit numbers. He said that the people who run the hunt get to sort out and kinda of hand pick the winners. This was told to him by the managers of a hunt he was on last year. And they informed he would be back. I will tell you the hunt he said he would win, he in fact did get a permit for this hunt. And this conversation did take place before the first drawing of the year. So he either told me the truth or it’s one hell of a cosidence. I will not Make public his name or the hunt he won due to privacy issues. You will see my post below and know conversation was after we both had applied and paid.

BS. Luck of the draw, and wishful bragging I bet. I have drawn 3 times for different tags at the Chap in 8 years, but it is not rigged in my favor, just lucky!
You'd have to have one heck of an enticement to get someone to commit a felony tampering with a public draw, to give somebody else a permit.
Beer and whiskey, 'cause you can't drink bacon!!

I’m not saying it’s not bs just stating the conversation we had and the drawing results. That being said I have been sitting on this for a few weeks. And really debated posting it. But he is real adiment about his discretion of how it works and his story has never changed. But I do agree that a totally random AI draw. You think it would be done at a set time no matter the date or if it falls on a holiday. Like noon the day after it closes or directly at midnight.

But I’m kinda second guessing the 1000’s of dollars I have donated at the moment.

All my private lands are pending second draw. My two young nephews were lucky enough to draw the Fairfield doe hunt and the Gus Engling doe. I can’t make it to the Gus so some kid d will get my nephews spot.
All the above nonsense about rigged draw system is a bunch of garbage. It’s straight up luck of the draw.

My Bandera Pvt Lands GDA application is still Pending 2nd Draw as of 5 minutes ago. Sure would be funny to get drawn with 1 LP here, when I can't get drawn with 19 LP's - +1 more for this year's app - in EXO, and have 16 LP's riding in the GDE drawings. I did get drawn about 8-10 years ago in Pvt Lands GDA but it almost got rained out, so I called and cancelled my spot rather than fight the weather after just getting over the flu. Ron

I drew an EXO tag at Garner 3 years ago with only 4 PP's. I got drawn again this year for EXO at Garner with only 3 PP's. I truly believe its a random selection, but it is crazy how in 19 years you have struck out in that category.
