Headed out there for the opener next weekend. Don’t have a clue how to scout it or where are the best places to hunt. Any advice appreciated.

I have hunted near El Centro, CA which is not far from Yuma. The hunt was set up by the Navy base there. Beav is right, the folks that drive out from the city are typically clueless but no more clueless than the city folks here in TX. The hunting was good but would not describe as spectacular.

Long time ago I duck and pheasant hunted just South of Yuma in Mexicali and San Luis along the Colorado River. Not sure how the dove hunting is, but there were loads of ducks... even got me a cinnamon teal.

I drive for a living, in thru there once a week sometimes. Off i10 theres alot of birds in that area. I see em everytime I go that way.

Good luck at the Big Breast contest! The 4-H club there raises money by cleaning birds and the restaurant will cook them for you.

Thanks, i saw that. Seems like you’ve hunted there? Did you hunt right in or near town (orange groves? Reservation?) or did you go somewhere more remote outside of town? Any tips appreciated, thanks.

Nope. Just watched the YouTube and seen a hunting show on filmed there. 3:10 to Yuma is a great movie too.

they claim to be the dove shooting capitol of America...
I beg to differ, seeing dove flights W & S of San Antonio..
but cant fault the CofC for advertising...
Yuma aint exactly a destination...
