It will take a lot of force to move it and would ruin more meat than a lot of rifles. That guy obviously has to much time on his hands and I can’t imagine it being accurate. So I agree with dnb...why?

Why not? He obviously didn't build it to hunt animals. Just having fun with a home made cannon.

Very disappointing I though we were going to see it shoot a pig.

It's not realistic. You put it down bait a pile and hope a pig gets to the exact spot and is still. It will ruin any meat that may have been eatable. It's just dumb. Period.

I don't see how he is going to get within range of a hog but it's his time and money. Besides, a hog is not an animal. It's a virus that needs to be taken out by any means.

Ps it won't be hunting. Please don't refer to hunting as killing a hog just to see how badly you can destroy it. It will be hog killing and there is nothing wrong with hog killing.

Hunting is hunting for food or possibly a trophy. After looking it up I guess sport is thrown in which would could be a very fluid word. Either way as hunters we have enough to defend without people videoing a hog getting torn in half for the shock value.

It may work....but I wouldn't feel comfortable videoing the hunt and posting it online. I would also be a bit worried about the state's definition of lawful means and methods. Is this a 'firearm' or 'archery'....and how would a GW interpret your cannon?
