Not uncommon for bucks and does to stand up and box each other at a feeder. Dominance even comes into play in velvet antler growing season.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I would say scars from last years rut and losing the fight to a dominate buck. I had a friend that shot a large heavy antlered buck at the later part of the rut one year. The buck looked weak and sickly as it came to his feeder, and he took it to put it out of it's misery. When we skinned it out and there wasn't an area on either side of the deer, shoulders and hindquarters that was salvageable. It wouldn't have made food fit for a dog to eat. Bloodshot and puss and puncture wounds over the entire body. The deer had to have been near death as it was.
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

That's crazy. I've seen them beat up, but damn. Worst one I saw was last year. Not beat up, but sickly, weak with what looked like puss and matted around eyes. The buck looked weak and sickly as it came to his feeder, and he took it to put it out of it's misery. An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Looks like he got punched in the nose. Bet an old doe ran him off a feeder.
