I thought of a great excuse to get a second bow. I need one set up without a peep.
It’s too close to season to take the peep out of my current bow. Therefore I should get a second bow, set it up without a peep to see if how my 62 year old eyes would do. See if I can anchor in the same place every time, I’d bet that’s what it takes to shoot without a peep, how you anchor.
Seems like a good excuse to me!!!
Thanks, Billy

Consistent anchor point is needed whether shooting with a Peep or not. It becomes more important IMO without the peep.
An IQ sight has the retina lock that can be used instead of a peeo.
Of courswe old school Kisser button helps with anchor locatio3n

I’ve looked at the IQ sights/website. I need to read more, I don’t understand retina lock, they looked like a regular bow site to me.
Thanks, Billy

In the housing at the top of the circle os a hole that is green and black on the inside. When setup correctly which is easy for 2 to do you have a green circle with a black center when aligned properly for your sights. For those that have been using peeps for years it is more of a gymic IMO but I have seen it help new shooters grove in that consistent anchor point and supposedly it is accurate enough that you can use it and no peep and still be good. Of course for many years we had no peep sights to use.
When I am not using a peep it is because I have a recurve in my hands.

As said above, consistent anchor point is the key, I still like the peep site. Without one it is like shooting a gun without the front action site. You could just use the front blade but more consistent with both.

No peep on my recurve, but the groups aren’t as tight either.

I shot my last bow "compound" for 8 years w/o a peep and shot consistant tight groups. Anchor point, Anchor point, Anchor point.... With my older age, my eye sight started changing and I forced myself to get a verifier peep. I hate it but at least I can see my targets clearly!
But yes, that's deff grounds for a new bow lol!
