Ok I am missing something here, I have shot the same bow for years. A Hoyt Enticer if that tell you how old my bow is. My question is why buy the new bows, are they that much better than my old bow, I kill deer, and hogs every year, taken a couple turkey and it shoots great, to me. I have it tuned and inspected every year and I am comfortable with it. What will I be gaining by buying a new bow? Please no flames, I am not trying to start an arguement, just curious if I am really just getting set in my ways and not open to new ideas.

Kinda like why do I have a safe full of guns... Because I want something new to play with...
But, I will say this, I have had my Outback now for two seasons and don't see myself getting anything new unless something ridiculous comes out.... It really comes down to either you aren't completely content with the bow you have now, or just want to change things up every year or two...

I believe it is that edge of technology thing. Just a little lighter, faster, quieter, easier to draw with higher arrow speed, higher let off, etc...
Im with you, I still shoot my Montana Long Bow.
Will shoot it until it breaks, and get a new one.

it's just like buying new computers when the current one works perfectly fine... I shoot a hoyt magnatec, might have had 200 arrows flung through it since I bought it back some 5 or 6 years ago. I could buy a new one, but my drawlength limits me from achieving those high IBO ratings, so I will continue shooting what I have as long as its close to 300fps. (But flirting with disaster now, shooting well under the 5gr/lb w/ my hunting arrows.)

why new bow, why new arrows, why different brands, why different models from different brands.

I on average keep a bow and shoot it for about 6 months. I just like shootin different stuff. I will probably keep my X Force ss a lot longer. I love the way it shoots and feels. More than any other bow I have ever owned. I am in the process of sort of building me a new X Force. I just pulled my X Force 7 completely apart and am sending it over to PBR Hydrographis in Paris to have the riser powder coated. Putting custom strings on it after she gets a facelift, and then gettin her all set up and ready to go. Once she is all tuned and shooting good, I am gonna get me another one and start messing with it. I guess I am like some are with guns. I only have the bare minimum guns, but at any time you will find a closet full of bows. I only have 3 right now, and thats the fewest I have had in a long time.

I am a big time tournament fisherman. I have a boat load of tackle. Why do I buy more tackle, because the new stuff comes out and it might produce better then what you have now.
Thanks, Jigfish

Shot hoyt for years and killed many a deer and hog with it but got a deal on a new bowtech and like it better but as long as your happy with the old hoyt then theres no reason to get a new one unless your like me and a bunch of others and just want one.
