Inexpensive tubes of wheel bearing grease from Walmart!
I was going to fill feeder every weekend, although we do feed heavy. Once I put grease on the t-posts and legs of feeder....not one single coon pic. NOT ONE! Went out Friday night to fill feeder....still half full! Unreal. No tricks, go gimmicks no pics needed...just slather it on and go home.
Good luck!

I hope it’s that easy! I will definitely try it next time I’m out. Any ideas of frequency of application?

Amazing that they never came to eat corn off the ground. We had a guy at the lease that was a grease guy, after filling his feeder once for him I had that crap all over me, never again.

That just sounds nasty. We have ladders on all our feeders. Need to start trapping them though but varmint guards work which we have. Sounds like a small feeder to empty that quick.

It is inevitable that you or someone will lean or grab the pole, hard to get off and uncomfortable when sweaty.

There's always a downside......Dukes and a .22 seem to work best for us....

I believe in the 4 inch PVC leg covers. Tried the grease thing, lard and hot pepper rubbed on - seem to keep deer away.

Good luck! You had enough coons to half empty a feeder in a week?

Opppps....they ate off ground but not swinging and spinning the feeder mechanism any more. Only a few show up as the pigs eat every bit of it. This feeder is a "hog only" if you get it....deer feeders are located at other spots.

Good luck! You had enough coons to half empty a feeder in a week? One would hang from feeder mechanism and there are 10 to 20 of em on the ground all night. 100's of pics

I fixed mine by installing a cheap solar fence charger. Works great on the coons and squirrels. No problems in 6 years except one 10 dollar battery replacement. I was amazed that the corn lasted 4-5 times as long. The coons are still there and eat off the ground but when I hunt if I haven't scored pigs by time to go home, I finish the night by lead poisoning a few coons.
Just don't forget to turn it off when you fill or set feeder timer - it can be a leg wetting experience...

Glad to see this was a hog feeder, deer in my neck of the woods wouldn't come around something that stunk of wheel bearing grease.
