I bought a buckmark 7in barrel and it’s a perfect snake gun. With a little practice you can shoot their eyes out if you take your time. I’ve got four snakes down with mine all headshots. I practiced during dove season by shooting the shotgun hulls lying around me. Was connecting regularly after the third clip. I did have problems at first with my ammo. Found out my gun doesn’t jam with Federal ammo. And done. I’ve put a few wounded hogs away with the same pistol. Very light and easy to handle.

Got the SW22 Victory yesterday and took it out to the range. Shot over 200 rounds of different brand bulk ammo and not a single misfire or jam. Shoots great, super accurate too and breaking it down is way too easy. Thanks everyone for the advice!

Seems silly that a Buckmark or MKIII/IV aren't at the top of the list. Highly accurate, reliable, easily modified for RMRs/Suppessors/etc, and more rounds than a revolver.

I have one of those inexpensive, Heritage single-action revolvers that I use to kill snakes and an occasional varmit. The snakes get rat shot and the varmits get standard 22LR or 22 Mag rounds with the extra cylinder.
My high-end (at least for me) .22 handgun is a Ruger Mark IV Target that I only use for target practice. The Mark IV even makes a bad shot like me look like a good shooter. I would never consider shooting rat shot through the Mark IV.
Bought both of them at Academy.

I have both the Heritage and Single Six revolvers with the 2 cylinders, top of my list for versatility.
