If 57 to 58.5 grains of IMR4350 won't shoot well, there is probably a problem with your rifle. (start lower and work up, etc.)

ok, if you are trying to work up a load with the 165gr AB, I would suggest using IMR4350. Hodgdon, the powder manufacutrer, lists 56gr as a starting load. Work up from there, watching for pressure signs. If you don't find a good load in the 57 to 58.5gr range, you have a rather unusual 30/06.

Hope that helps.

thanks for info I only can find and have right now H4350. So I am playing with it today I had my first 3 shot group at a inch. What was funny was I thought I had the OAL figured out but these were seated shorter and they shot much better I may be back at the drawing board again. 58 grain H4350 and 165 gr Accubond. I was playing with this load and at 330 OAL and my other load were at 344 and I thought they were tight. I am going to reload some at the shorter lenght and try them again Tuesday.

Found this to pass on...

I found my post on another shooting forum, Nosler I think.
I just copied and pasted what someone else had posted, I shoot 8mm Mauser and 243 Win in Rifles.
Used to have a Ruger 77 in Thirty Ought Six, I loaded IMR 4895 I think it was??? 25 yrs ago, I forget

IMR 4895 been around a long time and theres a lot of info on a lot of other sites on it I dont say what you should use but its been giving good groups for years in a lot of various rifles including the 1903 springfields your barrel may have more to do with your accuracy than the powder. 4350 is a good 2nd choice for me too.
