I have a sweeney litle john deer feeder and the 6 volt motor went out. I called them and they dont see them anymore. Anybody have an idea who sells these things so I can buy another one. Its a 6 volt motor, about 2 or so inches around, about 4 inches long and has a 1/4 or so shaft about 6 to 8 inches long

The motors are kinda universal. Callahans, Academy will have replacement motors. Maybe yours might be different but I have replaced a few motors and all you have to be aware of is that you get a 6volt instead of 12. I hope this helps

ya universal! check any where that sells deer hunting stuff!

BTW i may not be completely accurate, but all the 12v ive seen were quite a bit larger than the 6v. the 6v always looked like the way u descibed.

academy doesnt sell motors. I went there. Called tractor supply, they said they dont sell'em. Havent to calahands. They closed te stor in cedar park and the only one I know of is way in south austin by the airport. And I think you;re right about being kinda universal. Although some have a shaft and some dont

Unless you just have to have the motor right now, then the TTHA show in August will have a ton of motors out there to choose from!

Well, I was able to find a used one that will work. At the gunstore at Hamilton. He had a sweeney feeder that had been hit by lightening and it tore the feeder up but the motor was ok.

I think they actually do 3 shows in August! One is in Houston, another in San Antonio, and the biggest is in Ft. Worth!

The Ft. Worth show is usually the third weekend in August!

You can buy them online. Also Mummes feed store sells just the motors as well. Sportsmans wharehouse used to before they went out of bus.

the mummes motor doesnt have the shaft. It seems that finding one with a shaft that is about 6 inches long is the key

These people have 6 and 12 volt motors (if you ever considered converting) and are very good to deal with.

This is where I bought mine. http://www.spintechspreaders.com/products/profile/12-volt-motor . I know that it doesn't have a 6 in shaft, but on mine I had to remove the spiral shaft and put it on the new motor. Here is the spiral shaft that I am talking about. http://www.spintechspreaders.com/products/profile/spiral-shaft . Hope this helps.

mine doesnt have a spiral shaft. It is about 6 inches long and on the end, for about 2 inches it is threaded , and you put the spinner plate on there and tighten a nut on it
