Geez Francis. It looked like a barrel in the picture.

Seriously? This looked like a barrel to you??
Did you happen to read the part about a 1" Tube??

The "H" Stands for Harry , as in Dirty Harry...figure it out yet?? Some people buy Chinese Junk, some people buy Mexican junk, some people buy American made junk. In this case, the Chinese camera works just fine..what's not to like??
The "3" after Dirty Harry was necessary because 2 others on this site also decided that the Clint Eastwood character was a good "handle".
As a guesser? you would make a good South African bobsled driver...

For all the naysayers, here's a couple pictures of the camera mounted on my rifle. Test fired, works great!

I wouldn't want to test it out for the first time with an animal. I think it would be smarter to test it before you get into the field to make sure the video is of acceptable quality.

I would be interested to see the quality of the video of you just shooting at a paper target. That will give you some good objective data.

We have a go pro and I don't think the video would be any good past 15-20 yards do to the lack of zoom capabilities.

But that is just something to think about since you have 7 months to improve your set up before you want to film anything of value.

DH3 - I have read all of your comments in order and you have explained yourself well. I think there are a few comments to take seriously: lack of zoom, recoil and effect on POI. Why don't you try it out at a range of 100 yards with a small exploding target - a soup can work work just fine. I for one would be interested to see how this works out. There are a lot of folks now that are using their smart phone with a zoom lens mounted on a tripod, but of course that only works for a stationary spot such as a feeder and doesn't allow for time to adjust to a different spot. Good luck and let us know.

Thanks for those comments. As I see it, someone will devise a lens for the Go-Pro style cameras and that will fix the no zoom issue.
As someone suggested, I did a short video of vehicles + or - 150 yards down the street from my front porch (no kids were in sight) and the video was able to show some detail. I have no idea of the detail I will able to capture on a live whitetail.
The hunting shows on TV where the cameraman is some distance from the shooter convinced me to mount the camera on the rifle. At least the subject will be centered and the camera and my rifle will be focused on the same spot...

Good idea.

FYI, I have a goPro that I have used a lot, it's basically worthless for anything past 15 yards or so. I doubt you will be able to see much detail past 30 ish yards. You may be able to tell an animal is there when it's moving but not much detail.
