I recently came upon the rifle that needs lots of cosmetic help. At this time my greatest need it to learn how to remove the barrel. I've looked at u-tube and have not found anything that addresses barrel removal. Any help? thanks in advance.

I have had one for about 20 years but never removed the barrel. That is the slickest leveraction I have ever cycled

I have operated all those and numerous other lever actions and none can compare. I pulled it out of a box at a friends gun shop, cycled the action and put it back in the box. He ask wasn't I going to put that one out to sell? My comment back was it is sold. It goes home with me. At one time I had 4 of the 5 Marlin Levermatic rifles, just didn't have the 22 detachable one. Ruger 96, tried one out the year they hit the market. One of my Unckles had the Winchester 250 and 255. I havwe also handled enought Winchester 9422 and 9422M to know they are somewhat inconsistent in smoothness and the one I have is extremely nice

I got mine in 1974 for my 12th birthday. Did lots of hay hauling, sprig digging and cow moving to be able to afford those 100 round CCI plastic boxes. I shot it thousands of rounds, even going thru a stretch of shooting clays from a homemade system(from the rear) to impress my high school and college friends. Fast forward 30 years and it had not been well taken care of post college. I recently sent it back to Winchester and they completely refurbished it. Reblued, refinished stock, etc.... It looks brand new.
