I've started giving the ones away that I no longer use. I gave two to THFers.

A 30 06, nor an AR 15, is a match for an Apache gun ship. If the US government wants our guns, they'll get them.

I agree with dog catcher, many will talk tough, after the first few die ugly, the majority will will hand them over.

I don't like it any more than anyone else, but it's the way it will go.

you really think an Apache pilot will agree to turn his guns on American citizens? I know one and I know he wouldn’t.

they would have to revoke posse comitatus (sp?) to be able to issue valid orders to the military, unlawful orders can be refused easily and I think virtually all the military would refuse.

chances of the 2nd being repealed legally with the convention of states etc. are slim and none for now.

Gun ownership has been on the decline since WWII. As of today, I agree, repealing the 2nd Amendment has very little chance, but each year 3 million new voters come on line as they turn 18, and a few less go off the voter rolls as the elderly, you and I die off.

Like dogcatcher I believe most will surrender their weapons. The largest part will give up their weapons with out a fight, some will wait for the threats of life, prison and door to door confiscation. Those that hold out will be called wackos by the largest part of our population especially the media. And they will be killed as they go down fighting, and it will not make a hill of beans difference.
The citizens in today's world have no where to run and start a new country in order to flee tyranny. This country is a frog in a pot of boiling water, it is happening very slowly.
This reminds me of the 1000s that thought the Republic of Texas guys were awesome. They swore they would join and support them till the end. They did not.

When the chance of dying enters the picture, the Internet bravado bs comes to an end. Most will become model citizens, those that resist the law, will become criminal.

Look at the 1000's that evaded the draft in the 1960's, it wasn't that they were not patriotic, they were scared to die. So they stayed in school, or packed off to Canada. Some chose the Conscientious Objector status and found themselves being a medic in the boonies humping a medical bag instead an M16. Some changed their mind in the first firefight.

I am a hunter and use a bow and arrow. Guess I should get a gun considering what happened to native american indians.

As much as I support law enforcement and the military and would like to believe otherwise, I think only a small percentage of them would refuse an order to confiscate weapons. For those who do comply with such orders, if met with armed resistance, they would respond with overwhelming force.

The reason we have the 2nd a. is to defend ourselves from the very people that have the only power to attempt to take our guns. We have a constitutional right to use these very weapons to protect ourselves legally in this country. As long as we have that right it is us who are legal and "they" would be the ones breaking the law.

Just my opinion, but I don’t think you are going to get many takers to be the ones going door to door to do the confiscations. People have proven what they will do when they think the government is coming to get their guns.....it wouldn’t take but a few more Waco, ruby ridge incidents (and likely OKC) and people would completely rethink the logic in going to confiscate guns. When it comes down to it, I doubt it would ever happen. More restrictions? Likely.

But, In today's world, we don't have the right to make threats.

Who are we to speculate what others would do in this situation? I know myself and that's enough.

If it gets that far, I’m taking my family and heading for some exceptionally remote hills to escape from this madness. It’s already tempting.

Meet me at Lowake Steakhouse in Rowena, TX it is about 5 miles from our place. At least we will have a steakhouse close for our lunch and dinners. I would recommend saving some dinner for breakfast, I won't be cooking. clap
