I am located an hour north of Dallas. I have a 2 yr old GWP. He has been on wild birds and release birds all this past season and is semi woah broke. I am looking for a trainer I can send him to for 3-4 months this summer/spring to keep his progress going. My wife and I are having our first child due in April so I know I won’t have as much free time as I would like to work the dogs and keep them ready for the 2018 season.

Have heard great things about virgil too. PMed you a few options closer to DFW, if that is important to you (had a buddy that wanted to use the guy in Krum so his wife could go and take the dog treats every weekend ?!?). A few things to dig into: is the trainer seasoned in training versatile dogs like yours, dig into their general approach with training dogs, how many dogs they have a time, time he/she will spend with your dog each day, etc I would throw out where you dog is at right now and weaknesses and let the trainer talk about their draft plan on how to get your dog elevated to the next level. Might want to ask for references of some versatile dog owners Sure others on here have some good ideas on how to evaluate potential trainers as well.

Dances is correct, I saw GSP (71 yr old eyes) not the fact that yours is a versatile breed. Virgil would still work hard for you and do a fine job but not exactly a versatile guru.

Clayton Taylor with Muddy Paws does a good job training dogs, and has a versatile dog program.

Was going to be my suggestion as well.
