You have to know the drill for Mary's, we place our order by phone (whether EB or WB) and it is ready right when we walk in the door. Sit down and eat (even during deer season and bike weekends). We know just how far out to make the call. You should see everyone's face in there when we walk in, sit down and out comes our plates.

Smokestack at the Thurber area I believe has new owner and I've been impressed last few times for breakfast and lunch. I need to try NY Hill, I guess.

Beehive in Albany is still open and still has original owner. I ate there three weeks ago.

You don't put garlic on a chicken fry, salt and pepper only! Gravy is the same way. I believe most restaurants have forgotten how a chicken fry is suppose to taste.

Mary's is e very bit as good as e ergo e says it is. We go there every time we go near. Strawn.

I live here and eat there a couple times a week at least.
Ali still owns it and is there most days. His daughter runs it the rest of the time.
Closed Sunday, Monday and until 5 on Saturday.
Other days open from 11-2 and 5:30 till 10 or 11 depending on biz.
Thursday night is shrimp night.
Their CFS is better than Mary’s.
Pats in Breckenridge, Albany Minute Mart and Kens in Breckenridge all have better CFS than Mary’s.
Mary’s only good if you want big and don’t care about good.

I'm originally from Throckmorton and worked in Breck for a while . Kens is still open? It used to be very good.

I'll have to try the Breckenridge spots. Only place I've ever ate there is the little Mexican joint next to the motel.

Ernie’s is a lot better Mexican. And they have kick A steak fingers too.

Yes Kens has had a new owner for several years now and it is better than ever.

I go through Breckenridge and Albany at least twice a week and I always either stop at Sunrise burritos for breakfast or Pam's for lunch. Both are excellent but the only downside is they will only take cash so I can't use my company Amex. I always see the Albany minute mart packed around lunchtime but I have never stopped there, I'll have to try it one day.

Good to know about Kens. I'm also glad Ernie's is still going. We ate there a lot.

I hunt near Breckenridge and if we go to town we either eat at Ernie's or Ken's.
If you order the steak finger basket at Ernie's be sure to ask for the home fries. If you don't you may get out of the freezer crinkle cut fries.
At Ken's we usually get the fried catfish basket or burgers. Their onion rings are really good and you get a lot. If I am not in the mood for fries with my burger of fish I will substitute fried okra.

We like shrimp night.....
