This is a totally new caliber for me, and I need a little advice about mags.. A good friend is building me an AR in this caliber and I was looking to start accumulating ammo and mags to use with it. What mags would you Grendel guys recommend for it. I have a number of AR's in 5.56, and one in 6.5 Creedmore now, just never any experience with the Grendel....yet. I don't need high capacity mags, just something in 10 rounds or so would be fine.

I only have one magazine and it's a 10 rounds metal one from Alexander arms, I believe a company called Leander makes it for them.

It's alright. About 150 shot through the rifle so far and no issues with function EXCEPT my 10 round mag can't actually hold 10. If i force the 10th round into the mag, then the mag is very hard to engage the mag release and probably won't load the first round because the bolt doesn't have enough forward force to push the first round out.

Once again, I've had no failures related to magazine if I keep 9 or less rounds in my 10 round mag.

All of my Grendel mags do that, and I’ve got two or three different makes.

I bought a couple 10 round mags from joe bobs..
https://www.joeboboutfitters.com/C-Produ...=1&CartID=0

They insert, feed, and eject well.. no complaints.. as I was researching, many other brands had negative feedback especially on the release...

1st choice = ASC i get mine from gunmagwarehouse.com (mine can be loaded .040 longer that the elanders)
2nd choice = elander, get them directly from alex-a

Whatever you do, don't buy AR-Stoner mags, they are all messed up, completely out of spec.

I got mine through Alexander Arms (made by E-Lander). They work great, a little pricey, the gloss (powder coat? paint?) finish is nice. I got 2x 10 round mags and 2x 17 round mags. I've always used the 10 round mags and haven't even opened the 17s yet.

They must have fixed them because I have four of the ten rounders and not an issue with any of them, bought 3 months ago. I do only put 9 rounds in them though.
