I have nice elevated blinds but they have ladders. My dad is getting older and I would like to trade out the ladders for stairs. A quick internet search didn't reveal anywhere to buy pre-made stairs. Anyone aware of where I could find some? I could probably self install.

How tall are your existing towers?

Home Depot sells a piece that's about 5 feet long that I used as a template. Something like this.

I am guessing that the main stand that concerns me is 10ft to the base.

You'll have to go 5' add a landing turn 180 degrees and do another 5'. That would be safer than a straight shot if he has balance issues.

If 10' I think could sell you stairs, porch, and hand rails that would bolt up. You'd just have to bolt brackets to your existing base. Let me confirm, and I can PM you pricing.

I've built a lot of stairs and could do yours a few ways, but building stairs requires post holes, concrete and time. And lots of expensive treated lumber, plus you really can't take it with you when you leave.

Get a set welded up and bolt it on. That's a one day job requiring a few friends and a tractor/FEL. It'll cost about the same and go up way faster.

Monarch hunting supplies has stairs, hand rails, porches pre-made but I'm sure you can have it built cheaper as others have offered.

Thanks to all for the info and messages. I hope to get out to my place in the next week or so and take some pictures of the base and also measure the stand to get detailed prices.

I purchased a couple of sets of different sizes from Westex Feed in Santo, TX near IH20 and 281. He usually has them on hand. Includes hand rails.

I found a couple used sets of rolling warehouse stairs with the brake messed up, got them cheap since they did not pass safety standards. Work great anchored to the stand.

These would be solid and cheap if you could find a set.

I sold an old warehouse rolling ladder to CharlieCTx on this forum this past summer and it worked great for his blind. PM him if you want to see pic's. There are a number of used warehouse equipment dealers in DFW. Suspect most major cities have one or two. I'd call around and find a used one. Will be a lot cheaper than building from scratch.
