I'll post results later but we ended the weekend with a 3 man limit Saturday but only 5 today(but I shot 3 of the 5 ) I think were at 175 birds for the year. Started poor but ended good.

Where's the number of shots taken, hits, etc? Come on I got to hunt about 15 times this year which is more than the last 10 years combined so I call that a huge success. Didn't shoot a ton, probably avg 1 bird a hunt, skunked a few times, but overall I was happy, and FINALLY found a hunting partner to do it with so we had a blast. For the first time in many many years I'm going to be aching for the next season to start!

Don’t keep a tally of birds and species but I’d guess 50-75 birds for me personally, with 50-60% of those being greys, 20% widgeon, 10% mallards, 5% spoons, 1% each pintail, ringneck, canvasback, wood ducks and gwt. Skunked once or twice.
Differs quite a bit from last year in that we shot lots of teal and no spoons or canvasbacks. No redheads in the last 3 years that I can remember. No bwt this year.
Nice spreadsheet. I need to start journaling hunts.

Here is my season totals.
Early teal...didn't go
First split
Wigeon 5 Gadwall 4 Pintail 4 G.W. Teal 1
14 total 1st split
2nd split
Mallards 28 Gadwall 65 Wigeon 3 Pintail 4 Woody 14 Spooner 3 Can 1 Ringneck 3 Redhead 1 G.W. Teal 36
2nd totals 158
Season totals 172 birds
About 60-70% of my hunts were solo. 25% with another person and a few hunts I had 2 people with me. I hunted more this year than last year and shot fewer ducks (199 last season) Overall a good season but compared to last year not as good. Learned some valuable lessons this year. I had 14 hunts this year where I skunked or got only 1 bird. 9 of those were first split and early 2nd. I hunted at 6 different lakes/areas. All public

I wish I kept better numbers, we had a mediocre season in SETX but our road trip hunts made up for it. I hunted in SETX 6/12 weekends of season and hunted other areas the other 6 weekends. 2 years ago my fiance and a friend of ours went on a road trip duck hunt and saw all of the missed opportunities (field ducks, geese, etc.) so we decided so start buying gear to prepare us for when those opportunities arise. Over the last 2 years we have accumulated quite the decoy spread to prepare us for all situations and it definitely paid off. Hopefully we can get on some snow geese around here before they all leave!
I'm with GK because I like salty old dudes.

I didn't keep track of exactly how much species of each I shot. However I ended up with 147 birds this year. I cannot complain being a college student double majoring it is hard to find time to sneak away, most hunts were done over the holidays. I could not get over the number of gadwall this year though. I would say around 60% of my birds this year were gaddys. Crazy.

I hunted 11 times personally. I got 29 ducks personally. Majority (12) were GWT. Didn't hunt Teal season.
My brother hunted 8 of those hunts and he got 13.
I buddies go on 2 different hunts but they both skunked. It was a weird season overall but I call it a success.
Are y'all's numbers for the group of personally? Also, it would be nice to know how many hunts you went on to reach these numbers.

If my math is correct, that would be 24.5 hunts if you limited each hunt which I have to believe you didn't... I got 11 hunts over the entire season...

My group totals:
259 ducks 4 geese
Gadwall - 100 Mallard - 47 Wigeon - 34 Teal - 30 Spoonies - 13 Pintail - 10 Ringneck - 10 Woodies - 8 Goldeneye - 2 Bluebill - 2 Mottled - 1 Canvasback - 1
Birds per man Average: 3.65 Hunts: 21 Birds per hunt Average: 12.5 Skunks: 0
Total number of hunts, total bird numbers and birds per man average were lower than they have been in a LONG time. Birds just weren't in good numbers for the areas I typically hunt. Hunting pressure was WAY up for the area I hunt and habitat wasn't as good. We zigged when we should've zagged several times, but enjoyed the season.
My oldest son, 12yo, was with me on all but 2 hunts. He had some firsts this year. Friday he shot a stud Goldeneye that is going on the wall.
We hunted all over this year; from the coast to N TX to Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Observations this year; Teal were almost non-existant for us this year. Teal and Gadwall flipped this year compared to last year. Brely shot any gadwall last year and shot the snot out of teal. This year the numbers are almost exactly flipped.
Shot mallards on more hunts (several hunts that we killed 2-3), which is unusual. We are either on the Mallards or we don't see them, hardly ever just kill a couple/hunt.
Looking forward to seeing what next season has in store for us!

just finished totaling my stuff too. I don't keep record of species numbers anymore. I used to but it made me crazy.
individual total: 190 ducks, 0 geese, and 9 hooded mergansers.
averaged 4.8 birds per hunt on 41 hunts.
narrowly edged out my season form 5 years ago to have my best to date.
Group totals: 426 ducks, 2 specks, and 23 hooded mergansers
96 hunters on 42 hunts averaging 4.7 birds per hunter per hunt.
All around our best to date and one to remember. Having said that...thank God its over! I'm tired and I think my wife wants a divorce. Time to get on the honey do list and mend the fence.

No that is my individual total, which Included early teal.I hunted every day over thanksgiving break and Christmas break, which was around 25 hunts, with 1-2 hunts hunt a week during the school semester. I am blessed enough to have access to a fair amount of private land I’m able to hunt at school and around Home, where I can shoot my limit most of the time, obviously I still had bad hunts. . I guess my hard to find time is a little bit of a stretch lol, I was used to hunting every day before class back in high school

This year was more limits and more skunks than usual. Typical year is 2-3 birds every hunt, this year was boom or bust it seemed.

How do y’all keep up with this stuff? I used to keep a daily fishing diary with dates, locations, conditions ect. When I lived on lake Palestine, and it helped when I was fishing the deep humps yearly. I never thought of keeping a yearly duck log when I cared about killing ducks. Does it help?

How do y’all keep up with this stuff? Easy. Only takes me a minute or so to log a hunt. Taking pics is helpfull, when you fall behind and can't remember. My spreadsheet I showed in my post is a summary spreadsheet, linked to a more detailed spreadsheet, where for each hunt, I log 1) date of hunt, 2) lake and spot of hunt, 3) lake level, 4) who I hunted with, and 5) total group birds shot (species and drake/hen). Although most of time when hunting with others we know who shot what, but not always, so I do not mess with tracking that, but since I got number of guns, I can calculate birds per gun per hunt, which is what I use for HIP, and what I'm interested in. Well for HIP you should know what you shoot, but really the only thing that is "helpful" for me is tracking lake levels on hunt and scout trips. I use this all the time. Hunting spots on lakes are only good when lake is at certain level. Many duck holes I wait years to hunt again waiting on right lake level. I'm always going back to old logs to check lake levels. Other than lake levels, the rest is just informational, which I do like to track.

I used to track all that so I could post season results for my guide service. Now that I am semi-retired 75% of my hunts are with family & friends. Got out 36 times this year and if I had to guess shot approx. 180 ducks. Mostly gray's then widgeon, can's, ringers, teal, mallards and pintail in that order. Oh, 6 geese and 1 bufflehead. LOL.
