This is how I now know I’m old, the world has passed me by....... and I’m fine with it. I started to type I’m only 41..... then realized how starting any statement with, “I’m only” followed by your age makes you sound really really old. I’ve never posted on book face and I’ve never taken a selfie. I’ve been a lot of beautiful places that I took a lot of pictures (Africa, Canada, South America, all over the US) but it never crossed my mind to include my face.
Part of me knows this was all in good fun and for those who take selfies.... I say selfie away!!! But part of me agrees with the post, “God help us”.

This forum is way more old fashioned than Texasbowhunter forum, there are almost 40,000 views on a thread there. And for all of the "real men", I am willing to bet that I have shot bigger low fence whitetails than y'all have ever seen.

I'm 45. Its a shame that people can't be open minded and have fun. I'll chime in because not enough have. I'm confident enough in myself to stand up and say I take selfies. And I am not ashamed. My family has fun with selfies. We don't live near each other anymore, and we don't hunt with each other as much as we'd like. Unfortunately, I only see my dad 2-3 times a year for less than a week at a time. Hunting selfies keeps the camaraderie alive. My dad learned how to send photos on his cell phone last year. Now, whenever he goes hunting or fishing he sends me photos and a selfie to rub it in that he is retired and having fun while I am at work. I love seeing his face enjoying what he is doing. And I'll take every single one he sends me, because sooner or later I won't get them anymore, and his selfies and his memories will be all I have. I return the favor, because I know he enjoys seeing my face as well. It doesn't make anyone less of a person to be vulnerable and take a photo of them-self doing what they love. If you don't care for it, don't do it. And there are a lot of similarities between THF Off Topic forum and facebook...

And there are a lot of similarities between THF Off Topic forum and facebook...
When you consider that the "Off Topic" has more post than the entire "IN THE FIELD" section, it is like THF is a facebook with some hunting topics.  Is taking a selfie any different than propping the phone up and setting it to time-lapse, and then waiting for it to take the picture? You just aren't holding the camera/phone.

I am right at 62 and I very seldom do selfies, but when I do I make them count Real men do whatever the hell they want  Before I got my trailer I use to camp out, when weather conditions were way bad I would get a room at the Butterfield motel. I did not enjoy staying at the motel but I managed to amuse myself anyways. BTW no alcohol was involved   Sometimes after way to many hours in the blind you just lose your mind
