My hog hunting isn’t much to brag about, but my trapping is doing just fine. There was a big un in the trap this morning, and he was not happy. Probably one of the biggest hogs i’ve taken here on our place. I couldn’t pull him out of the trap, and had to use the ATV winch. I thought maybe he’d be close to 240 or so, but the scale said 195.
This was a long hog, but not as thick through the chest as some of the other big ones i’ve trapped or shot. Tusks about 1 inch long.
My flightless buzzard watched the whole shooting and dragging. I expect he’ll hop over and be on that hog like a fat kid on a donut in no time at all.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

Why don't you ask a mod to post your girth/weight chart as a 'sticky'?
Kel-Tec RFB + Griffin Sportsman Ultra Light 300 + Pulsar Apex XQ-50 M&P-10 + AAC Cyclone Remy 700 + Leupold VX3 3.5x10x50 CDS

Why don't you ask a mod to post your girth/weight chart as a 'sticky'? it’s not mine it was flintknapper who originally posted it. I don’t wanna steal his credit for Introducing it but I can ask them to make it a sticky.

Girth inches x 10 - 200 = weight
38 inches times ten =380 -200 pig weights 180

It's very common for folks to overestimate a dead hogs weight. Regardless of the wright it's a dead hog, so good job. I promise there are far fewer 300 pound hogs than folks claim.

Every boar is atleast 200 LOL. Last yr I was on a guided hunt on Ft Hood and killed a large boar. One of the other hunters looked at it and said its got to be atleast 300 prob more. I said I don't think so prob 220 max. We weighed it and field dress weight was 180 so add 20% for guts it was right around 220.
