Did this place change management or something? I ate there about 7 years ago when I first got on a Stephens Co. lease and the only thing worse than the food was the service. For years there have been few cars in the parking lot when we passed by but recently there have been a lot of cars in the parking lot. Anyone eat there recently?

I do think it has changed hands. Have stopped about 5 times since August. Big breakfast plates and lunch plates. Good eats and fare prices. I still like Mary's in Strawn but I don't hesitate to stop at Smokestack either. Last time stopped with wife and kid and they liked breakfast.

I usually eat across the highway at New York Hill. Pretty good home cooking. Haven't ate at Smokestack in probably 7 years.

What Stompy said above. I always eat at New York hill across the highway from smokestack. Great home cooked food and service with a smile. Ya can't beat that.

Have been to the Stack about 5 times in the last year, and have always had great meals/service. New York Hill is nice as mentioned.

Ate there a few yrs ago. Cig smoke everywhere. I had the smoke chicken fry, with smoke taters, smoke gravy and smoked green beans. You get the picture

Thanks for your responses. I guess I am going to have to give them another chance when the opportunity presents itself.

Ate their once a long time ago out to the deer lease with my dad. It took 1.5hrs to get two cheese burgers, and we were the only people there.

I think the management has changed at least once..if not more.. over the years. I remember it as being really good, but a couple years ago it was just the opposite when I stopped there. I liked to stop there, as I normally leave home very early when headed that way, and it makes for a great stop to get out of the truck and get some breakfast. Hopefully they have turned things around.
