I remember back in the old days we mostly grated our own cheese. I now use it at least once a day with my breakfast tacos. Sometimes on my dinner dishes like this one.

I generally get the cheddar sharp. Do you use it? Whet dishes? What kind?

We buy the Mexican cheese mix, and use it on anything and everything.

My daughter refuses grated cheese. She heard somewhere they use Wood pulp , cellulose, to keep it graded. But, I like grating my own. Taste better

+1. Definitely tastes better. They have to put something in those bags to allow grated cheese to keep for over 6 months. Not to mention the cellulose used to keep it from sticking together.

We grate our own Parmesan cheese but we do use sharp cheddar and extra sharp cheddar to make our Nacho Balls. The Mexican mix makes great grilled cheese sammiches.

can't remember the last time we used a grater to grate cheese ... have a separate drawer in fridge with 5-7 different types of bagged grated cheese.

used to grate potatoes too for hashbrowns, now use Orida grated hashbrowns in a bag, lives in the freezer.

Grate that cheese! I normally go for anything Jalapeno, or sharp cheddar.

My wife says pre grated cheese doesn't melt right. I can't tell the difference.

I agree with your wife. They put something on it to keep it from sticking together in the package. I used it a few times when my wife bought it and did not like the results. I am a die hard grater for life.

Agree! When I do big things like lasagna, pastisio, other casseroles, I always grate it. But - I keep bag grated stuff around for nachos, topping various grilled items, etc., when quick melting is needed.

Either way is fine with me. We buy grated to use at the house. The inlaws grate their own. Mild cheddar is what we get, I like sharp but the wife and kiddo not as much.
