I got in stand early this afternoon thinking the deer might start early, and I was right. I've been in the stand for about 45 minutes and already I've seen about 10 long beards, 8 doe 3 nubbins and 3 yearling doe.

Second rut has started, I have 2 young bucks chasing a hot doe, looks like dogs chasing each other, jumping over brush and never looking up just nose to the ground

Texting hunters is great, as long as phone is on silent. One of my bow hunters is watching a big 10pt who has come and gone from the feeder twice to bury his face in the sugar beet crush. My hunter says both times the buck has been straight on not giving a proper shot, he will just be patient!

Back in the stand scouting for a THF member coming in tomorrow, I have a Floridian sitting in a bow blind hoping to stick a big buck this evening. I've been in the blind for 10 minutes and already have a yearling doe at the feeder. The big bucks are back on doe and need some persuasion to come within bow range of the blinds so I am putting out the sugar beet crush, my hunter told me that a huge 10pt returned to the feeder twice last night to get his fill of sugar beet crush, he was unable to get a good shot on the buck because he came in straight on both times not presenting a good angle for an arrow. I praise my hunter for not forcing the shot and wounding a buck.

What a great evening bow hunt for Eddie, it was his last opportunity at sticking a buck before he has to head back home to Florida.

Keep up the good work and congrats to the hunter from FL. Looks like you have a lot of deer on that place and they appear to be in good body condition. Your feeding program must be working as they don't look like average Bandera County deer. Tell the family "Hey".
