Well that's good to read, hopefully they'll still be at this week. Just odd, typically we'll see a lot more buck activity - I hunted from 3 different locations on Sat and Sun and only one yielded a young 8 cruising. The does I did see all seemed skittish. So I think there were bucks lurking.
Heading out on Friday and may be even on Wednesday if I can convince the wife of the dire need to be in the field.

Got to blind in short sleeves and had to get jacket on by 7. Only two little bucks early. I am ready for some Red River Pizzeria in Nocona to get out of this hurricane. I meant to ask, is the Pizza good? I've driven by it for the past four years and have yet to go in.

Yes and great owner. He is from Southlake and lives by our lease. And cold schooners of Shiner. Been there 4 times. Kids love it. Was a nice break from the 40 mph winds and was full by the time we left at 1.

A lot of activity on this cold morning. I’ve seen 5 bucks and a small doe. All were young bucks and they seeking and chasing. The bucks were smaller but it’s good to see them moving around.
Also, I ate at the Red River Pizza place last night. The pizza was really good. Better than anything else around. Will def go back!
Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm game for some pizza and beer to close out the season.
Also good to read the deer are moving. Will try to get up there for a Friday hunt for sure. Unexpected guests are coming in this weekend which puts a damper on a long weekend hunt. Hopefully they'll plan to come in Sunday vs Sat.

I've been covered up this morning. Seen chasing and cruising. Nice 10 wouldn't give me a shot and a ?-point but wide was feeding before or light.
I'm by the lake in Nocona for reference.

4 doe so far. Only 2 ate. Last night all bucks at different blind. Big guy showed at last light but couldn't tell what he was so look forward to pulling card later.
Buddy dropped his kids deer of at Fischers last week and itnwas busy. Said several folks didn't tag their meat yet and saw a few illegal deer. Fischers made them tag them of course but under 13 deer never get caught unless GW is at processor. ARs only keep the honest folks honest.

Couldn’t hunt this morning - had to run home for some visitors. But 1 minute after they left I m back in the truck and sitting in the blind within 2 hrs. Last nights hunt all I saw were two does and a really young spike. Hoping this evening is better but my bet is on the cold night driving some activity in the morning.

Anyone have any updates from the past week? I am not sure if I'll be able to make it out this weekend or not, unless one of yall can convince me that something has changed.
Good luck, be safe!

No convincing from me. I was out there this past weekend and hardly saw anything. I did see a large body buck in hurry at 325 yards on Sunday morning and that was it. Usually I see a lot of does but really not a lot. I'm going to wait until next weekend - it is forecasted to be much cooler and the bucks may settle back in to a normal schedule. Last year around the same time - I started to see bucks start to hit the feeders. Good luck and let us know if you see any good activity out there this weekend.

Saw small basket 8 pt, 2 does, 1 yearling. All were eating corn.
Full moon tomorrow morning so we will see but next week should be nice with the front coming in.

Went out tonight. Jumped some doe walking to stand. Single nubbin came in to eat early but no corn that early. Then feeder didn't go off. Walked down to unjam it. Same deer came in right away after I spun it a few times. Then a young doe came in with nice buck in tow. Luckily broken on one side and he just watched her eat standing outside pen. Then doe parade came in. Blowing and eating for an hour. At least we saw an older buck.

I didn't see a deer. However, a guest took an old, toothless 10 point that weighed 140 lbs.

I want to try for this weekend - especially with the cold that is setting in. One last shot at the big ole boy I've seen on camera. Good luck.
