Not seeing very many deer here in bandera county.
Last year we were covered hi in them
Haven't seen a deer all morning where last year I'd have seen 10 by now
Anyone else experiancing the same thing?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Comal county has been real slow according to my FIL. Must be plenty of grub for them to eat.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

I have hunted in Llano, Bandera, Center Point, Austin area, Georgetown, Round Rock, Dripping Springs, San Antonio, Canyon Lake area and I've always seen deer down there, so I'm sure they are there. Deer now days have to contend with a higher population of humans, construction, and hunters. In my mind it gets harder by the year to pattern deer, though I see more than ever. I loose a hunting spot every year if not more because of too much human activity and development. I think the deer in human populated areas or over hunted areas are going to be challenging to pattern. Think about it, they always get bumped around or pushed out or even shot out or run over by cars. If you are not seeing deer find a secondary hunting spot and preferably not in the same area. It keeps your interest higher and breaks the manotany down. I cant think of any thing worse for a hunter than repeditly not seeing deer in the same hunting spot. It can be your sign if there aint any sign. Increase your exploration ability and have fun doing it. Adapt or fail. P.S. it could just be a corn and acorn thing.
Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

Also in Bandera Co. Same thing here. Much less activity than in the past. Saw plenty as I was driving, though.

Been real slow through October into November, with the exception of youth weekend when temps really dropped. I️ saw 40 deer on Saturday of youth season, then 2 the first Saturday in November. Yesterday and today are picking up.. we need some cold weather!

Saw 1 yearling buck at 8:24 this morning. Couldn't have cared less about the corn
Saw plenty of sign under oak motts, however.
I'm blaming acorns

Hunted this morning north of SA and didn't see anything moving. It was so quiet that I could see in three directions about 100 yards and I didn't hear nor see one single bird up until the time I left about 9:45. Did hear a deer blowing after I got settled in my blind before daylight.
Thursday at 12:45 PM #33 Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Acorns are driving then away from corn right now. Drastic drop in numbers. Should pick up with cold snap now.

Hunting in Edwards County, I observed a lot of deer, but not big numbers coming to the feeders. Too much other stuff to eat out there right now.

In Mason County. I expected it to be dead opening weekend but they came out of the brush as soon as the feeder went off.

San Saba had lots of movement. Even had a nice 8 chase a few doe right through camp. Too hot and too many flies for me to shoot anything. Buddy shot a nice 10.
