Myself I am a meat hunter that will gladly capitalize on a trophy if and when it's presented but my focus is full freezers hands down.

Same here. But being in an AR county, we try to get a really nice buck. To us anyway!! Been hunting this place for 5 years, and aint pull the trigger yet. But sure love watching em.

I like to get in the outdoors. Always look for big deer, but am OK if I don't get anything. Like to hang out but the other guys on the place don't hang out much.

Fwiw. I shot one doe in the last 4 years.

Management minded hunter here but will take at least 3 deer a year to fill freezers up. The last few years, only shot does and cull bucks. Have not had an opportunity on a trophy lately, hopefully that will change this year.

I just like killing animals.

I'm a little bit of everything on your list. Of course I have bucks on the wall but have killed a handful of doe or more for every buck. I enjoy processing my own meat and have been looking up sausage recipes all week. I've relied on venison as my main meat source for years.

I hunt and manage my best friends property along with another good friend.

I also like just being out in the wild, watching animals and taking pics. I shoot more deer with my camera these days.

A little of everything. Unfortunately my area doesn't allow me to be management minded. If I don't get em it won't be here next season.

It really shouldn't matter. We should all support each other, regardless of our views. I love deer meat, and that is my first reason for hunting. It's not the scenery or being one with nature and all that "Bull corn". I can get that without a deer stand or the cost that is associated with it. Do I want a nice rack to look at? Sure I do, but the age or size of an animal should "Never" be a reason to put someone down for their kill. If its not your style, that's fine, but we should not try to shove what we have become onto anyone else. We are, or should be on the same team always! Less the day come where some "Idiot" suggest that we hunt with paint ball guns with cameras on them to record a successful hit and that is our trophy, and that we should not actually take/kill the animal! Didn't mean to hijack your thread, but I just wanted to make it was clear to anyone who reads it that it doesn't matter which one you are, you are on "Our team" and you are to be praised for it! Let's go kill some deer(Not harvest, as they are "Not" fruit and veggies). If that offends anyone, it's no different than me being offended watching the Anti-Americans on CNN! Got what you ask for!

I like being at the lease, I am out there the most out of our group. I grew up in the woods of Vermont. I could walk a block and be in deep enough woods as I would more likely see a black bear or mountain lion than another person. I enjoy bringing my boys out to teach them whatever I think I know. Stalking, shooting, how to walk quiet, gun safety, and all of it. I am firstly a meat hunter as those boys love them some venison. I don't know the rest of the order for me on that list but it's a good list.

Yup.

I believe Parks and Wildlife issue so many tags as part of management for any given county. If all I wanted to do, was eat venison... I could by it commercially cheaper than getting a lease, buying everything and taking time off work. I hunt because I was raised hunting. My father, brothers, even my mother dear hunted most or all of there lives. It's in my blood, part of who I am. At 57 I have fewer seasons left than I wish to have. My connection to this activity runs deep.

I hunt because I love it... and all those that that taught me.

I'm 65, killed some good bucks, one really good one in my time.

Its all about great times with friends.

I get 4 days, just me and my daughter. Lots of memories being built and great times. She's the horn hunter.

Me, This year may be my last shot at a BIG buck. I've paid allot of money (for me) to hunt West Texas with my daughter cuz we lost our lease, which was GREAT!!! Sad .

So, just keep making good memories with my Daughter and my close friends.
