I shoot a multi pin, but considering a switch to a single pin mover. Anyone have experience/feedback on a single pin sight?

Issue I have with a single pin mover is that you have to move it. Sometimes while hunting, the deer is moving and I don't want to have to be adjusting my pins as he moves.
If you are shooting 3d, the mover is great.

To me a single pin is great for targets but I do not want extra movement to get busted while hunting if the deer steps out at a distance other than what the single pin sight is set for. Then you have the case like above where the deer is moving.
A coworker had a big buck step out at a longer distance than he expected. In the heat of the moment he forgot to adjust the pin and shot right under the deer.

I use a single pin but it is not adjustable. Right on at 25, little high up to 20 but not enough to even have to compensate, 5.5" low at 30, 10" low at 35yards. I wont be shooting past 35 this season, been too busy to practice enough. I'd probably go to a 3pin if I shot further.

I asked that exact question to the pro shop manager at CCR . He explained it as it comes down to the shooter. Is the shooter capable of making an ethical shoot at over say 50-75 yards? The single adjustable sight pen is great if you can see long distances of a shooting lane and capable of making the longer shoots. If you can only see down the shooting lanes 50 yards and that is your max shooting distance , you will be handicapping yourself by having to adjust your sight at the shorter distance. Also leaving to chance to forget to adjust the yards and shoot high or low of the target. I was looking at buying a high dollar sight and he talked me out of it for the time being . Until I was capable of utilizing it, don't need it. magspa that seem like a large drop over 10 yards.

I have/had a multipin slider for 4 years. Three pin’s with sliding head.
On my Colorado hunt this year I managed to tear fiber out of two of the pins. It became a one pin sight. I know have one pin fixed so it’s a two pin sight 20 & 40 and slide to 120.
My whitetails hunts one point n doesn’t matter especially in a pop up because chum line is a set distance. Antelope hunt didn’t matter because all my shots where dial anyway, I was behind a decoy so time wasn’t exactly an issue.

I learned the hard way that fixed pin is HORRIBLE for spot and stalk/moving animals...in a situation where you're in a stand or over bait they're AWESOME.

my wife shoots single, i shoot 4... but when she hunts i am with her and will help her dial in distances... much easier for her to just hold a pin on and not worry about which pin or go in between pins etc... for me i liked the single pin alot as well... just not good for how i hunt

The majority of my hunts are at night for hogs, so I use the single pin. In my case I have a pipe feeder that I mark off so I can tell the yardage at night and just move the slider as needed. With multiple pins, the pins are so bright that I wasnt able to make a very good aim, it was all blurred. The single pin works great for my use.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'll stick with the multi pin.
