On my new ranch there is an old house with 4 wire vents & a few rattlesnakes. All but one vent are sealed thoroughly.I want to gas under the house to force them out of the west vent hole & then reseal the vents w/new wire. How do I gas the house? can I shoot them when they come out or will the blast ignite the old house? I guess i seal the other vents to force all the exit air out the west one. Wait for a hot steamy day & use a pump sprayer to spray the gasoline under the house. I don't want to blow myself up either! Give me some ideas

I've heard of people doing it, but never watched them. I know we used to pour gas on snakes we killed. They wiggle around so much, you would think they came back to life! The gas irritates their skin pores, or something like that. I bet you could google it?
Mmmm Hmmm

I had a snake go in a hole under my house one time, I poured gas in the hole and waited for him to come out. He never did and apparently died under there and it stunk for a long time....

I WOULD NOT reccomend shooting a gun immediately after vaporizing gasoline with a pump sprayer... get a shovel! however, if you leave them alone you won't have a rodent problem

Everyone I've seen do it put gasoline in a pump up sprayer and just fogged it in the hole. They'll come out. NO SMOKING FOR A GOOD 3 OR 4 HOURS AFTER THIS...

How big is the house? More than likely if you gas it they will just move away from the fumes. It's alot different than putting gas in a den, a den is a pretty confined space therfore the fumes dont have a place to go. if you gas under the house theres no tellin where the fumes will go. probably in the house !! Just crawl under there and get'em. Where is the house? Maybe I'll come out and get'em for you.

No problem doing this out in the field into a den hole......but no way in heck I would do that under a house!!! Two of the three sources of combustion will be present. The fuel and the air. The ignition source can come from the muzzle flash of the weapon or any of a number of pilot lights/electrical sources inside the house. Tbar

Use some of those fogger bombs they use on roaches. They will run from it so start farthest from the escape hole. And it will kill allyour bugs at the same time.

How about piping the exhaust from a car under the house. The carbon monoxide buildup should kill them.

I can give you my ex-wifes telephone number, tell her that there are some stray kittens under your house that need to be rescued.

houses take a lot of gas and a little luck. you will have to put a lot of gas fumes under there. i use copper or steel tubing with a compressed cylinder air to gas dens, but the above post are correct about the difference of the 2. You might be able to catch the conditions just right early in the morning or at night.(yea i have hunted them at night and they will come out. LOl)there needs to be little or no wind,BUT like others have said, you will be creating a hazard. DO NOT shoot them!!! No fires, electrical or anything that could creat a spark.you will wave bye-bye to the house and possibly yourself. A lot of people underestimate the power of gas fumes. your best bet might be to seal it up as tight as possible and hope they die, and others cant get in. If they are denning there, most should be gone this time of year.

you might want to try Bleach instead. it'll have the same effect as gasoline and because it's gives off chlorine gas it is heavier than air and will stay on the ground.
