I've "heard" the same and he is looking at a 55k fine. Either way, this guy wasn't using his head. What did he expect to happen???

I think there was a story a few years ago involving a game warden who poached a deer and he is still working for the department. Don't remember all the details.

I'd wait and not speculate. It only happened last week.
Any social media personna commenting as if they have a clue what happened is no better then fake news and is irresponsible journalism.

If the buck was suffering and he "put it out of its misery" like the sotory reads I don't see how could hang for this assuming he wasn't trespassing to begin with... seems like he did the right thing to me, doesn't matter if it's a doe with a broken leg, or this monster... maybe I'm the only one who feels this way.

Arise.Kill.Eat -Acts 10:13 I have read a bunch of stuff on the internet about Star Wars but that does not mean I can skin a deer with a light saber.

I once worked a wreck in Denton County where a girl hit a big 8 pt (130” or so). A guy on scene wanted to take it and I told him I didn’t care but he needed to check with the GW. He called the GW and the GW had him text a pic of the deer to him. After GW saw the deer, he said the guy couldn’t take it and he was coming to get it. Not sure if it was because it was a nice buck or if that’s standard procedure, but it seemed a bit odd.

bunch of junior internet game wardens looks and reads like That's why I dont post over there anymore, too many smartazz douchbags. Apparently the buck was shot a few minutes after legal shooting hours and the Game Warden is not gonna let it slide. Kind of a shame the guy may not get to keep the deer but I guess rules are rules. Best I can piece together the guy had a small lease that borders Isle Du Bois State Park on Ray Roberts and the buck wandered off the state park and got nailed,or arrowed as it were.

Best I can piece together the guy had a small lease that borders Isle Du Bois State Park on Ray Roberts and the buck wandered off the state park and got nailed,or arrowed as it were. If he was using a bow, I wonder how they knew the shot was after hours? Eyewitness or maybe the guy just said I shot it at xx:xx time? Anyway, if he did knowingly break the law, I don't have any sympathy.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.
