We got drawn for the Dec 11-14 GDE muzzleloader hunt at Pedernales Falls SP Annex. Does anyone know what we are getting into? I sure am excited!

I talked to the huntmaster today. Seems like a good guy, but still don't have a ton of info. Still excited

I hunted it maybe 8 years ago or so. Basically you will meet at the office and they will take you over to the river.you have to walk down an embankment with all the stuff you will need and float it across the river.best way is just use ice chests and make a couple trips or a rubber raft of kayak would work. Then you drag your stuff a quarter mile down the bank to the cabin. It's nice but one room with a bunk bed and a regular bed so there will be three of you. Has electric and water .shower outside can get chilly. Microwave and small fridge and a composting toilet .it's pretty cool camping right next to river.p
Hunting is best near the river. Just find trails moving down to the river or paralleling the river youll see deer. Also may see axis or fallow there are some there. You will see some wild goats and they are fair game hanging near the river. I shot a small.8 pt. And one of other guys got a nice 10 pts.with a muzzleloader..just make natural ground blinds and I believe they allow corn so float a bag over . Good luck it's a fun hunt let us know how you did.
