Just what the title says. And I am not talking about a plastic toy bow. I am talking about the first bow you ever took out in the field and legitametly hunted with..........
So do you still have it.......do you still shoot it........what is it

I still have mine. In fact I just restrung it last summer. It's a all black Pearson Rogue. 70 lbs at 30" draw. My dad bought it for me when I was 10. I had it cranked down and really didn't start being any good with it and using it right till I was about 15. I replaced the stick on flipper rest with a bodoodle rest, and I shoot carbon arrows out of it, but I still use feathers. I shoot it instinctively. I don't shoot it much anymore nor do I shoot it that well, but I got my first ever bowkill with it. A hen turkey at about 12 yards, with a flipper rest, aluminum arrows and a muzzy broadhead.

sure do and put a new string/cable on it last year. Great bow. Its a PSE Polaris Extreme, I think. It had the energy wheels and not cams. #60-70lb pull. Its around 16 years old.

Partly. My first compound was a Bear Magnum Hunter. I then had got a Martin something or other target bow for competition shooting. Combined now with the Martin riser using the Bear cables and cams from my first bow. This combination was built maybe 20 or more years back from bows I bought 29-30 years ago. This hybrid is my bowfish/gator hunting bow is still used for the purpose I salvaged it for. Steel cables replaced once or twice. Only further upgrade being the type of bowfishing reel and string.

I dug up another picture. This bow I currently hunt with is probably older than some of y'alls first bows. A round wheel Hoyt Super Slam Supreme.

Wow, that is old. Like 1974-75? I also have a like new Bear Whitetail hunter. Not quite as old as yours. It was Bear's first compound bow on the market. Have never shot it. Someone recently gave it to me.

This sure got me thinking about the old bows and how many company are gone. A lot of these the younger guys want recognize Bear Kodiak, and 2 bear Kodiak magnum 1 52 inch 1 48 inch 3 bear takedown ,I dont remember the names Jennings model T Browning bushmaster, Cobra,Bantam Jennings Twinstar Stick bows by Shakspear,2Red Wing Hunters 2 Ben peason sticks 1 Browning stick Then I bought the first speed bow a PSE Nova, hatchet cams Lord that thing took a lot of animals, was hi teck flipper berger button, sights . After that bow had sat on the wall a few years I broke it back out and took a world record gator gar with it. I cant sell any of those bows because there is memories with everyone. Another note on the Model T I took my first deer with it and later reworked the string and cables and my son took his first deer with it. Ron

My first bow was a true starter bow when I was 14, a Jennings Sidekick at 45 lbs, not adjustable. That was in 1977. I shot that for about a year and then managed to get rid of it somehow, and then got me a Jennings SuperT. I almost got a Model T, but the SuperT was adjustable 45-60. I still have that bow.
I broke it out not long ago and shot it a few times and my son died laughing because it was so loud. I can't believe I used to shoot deer with that thing. They probably died laughing.

Nope. I traded my first one, a Hoyt XT2000, for my Vectrix XL. I love the Vectrix, but wish I had kept the other bow as a back up.

My father still has the first bow I ever shot. Its got a steel cable on it. Its a Fred Bear Whitail or something like that. The name has rubbed off on it. You sure wanted to make sure your form was correct when shooting that thing or it would make one hell of hurt on your arm.

I sure do. It is a 45lbs Bear re-curve from the 70's, it was my dads before he passed it on. It is hanging in a temperature and humidity controlled storage facility so it doesn't get jacked up in my house.

Well, I dont have my 1st. I just gave it to my stepdad who is trying to get into bowhunting. So, I still own it but I do not have it. It is a PSE Nova Extreme. Pretty sweet rig for a beginer bow. I bought it new in 2007. I just recently bought a PSE Mach X. Getting arrows and a quick tune up from Wes on Wednesday so I will be ready to rock and roll. Watch out, because I will be bringing the pain now!!!
I avoid Dick's and hope they fold.
