They are announcing a free "upgrade" on the 17th. Nobody knows what they mean by "upgrade" or what will be involved.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I'm pretty sure the "upgrade" will be the X5 trigger and the same components that are used for the military contract 320's. I only assume because other test videos I've seen they were unsuccessful at replicating the problem with the X5's

Are you sure?

Not sure if the military version was deemed safe but they do have different components than commercial. It's just speculation based on videos I watched that the X5 trigger, the shoe itself, is lighter in weight so it wouldn't self pull when dropped like the heavier trigger shoe on the commercial models. What's actually gonna happen I have no idea. More information is supposed to be released on Monday for the voluntary upgrade components.

They do claim the military variants aren't affected by the voluntary upgrade due to having the different trigger components. P320

Here's the Voluntary Upgrade Program: "SIG SAUER is offering a voluntary program for P320 pistols. This will include an alternate design that reduces the physical weight of the trigger, sear, and striker while additionally adding a mechanical disconnector." https://www.sigsauer.com/support/p320-voluntary-upgrade-program/

Here's a good follow-up video from the guy who started this. It gives you a good background and compares the P320 to many other brands. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNMuqZle_6Q
