The Schmidt and Bender Klassic Hungarian scopes are the same as the German made scopes.

Unfortunately no. The only reticle option so far is the L3 reticle which is a front focal #4 style with an illuminated center dot. The point of this scope for Schmidt it to get American hunters into the Schmidt product so they have only these two scope options available to keep the cost down. This is an excellent, bright scope with a simple reticle and simple controls. If you are looking for a extended range scope their are probably better options with MOA or Mil smart reticles and a side focus. Hope this helps. I am happy to answer any questions.

I agree, it's really a no-brainer for the average hunter. I am absolutely positive it's the best glass that kind of money can buy. It's impressive that they got an illuminated reticle in there for that price too!

A friend has a fixed 8x model made years ago. It is awesome nothing touches it on light gathering.

Ffp are very common in europe even for just hunting.

The original FFP reticles were hunting reticles like a #4. Very heavy posts. Many places in Europe you can hunt at night. Using a front focal reticle you can find the happy medium between brightness and having the thickest reticle possible to orient it in the low light. Hope this helps.

At least it's illuminated. A FFP scope with no illumination is absolutely unuseable in low light hunting situations. At the end of the day, 99% of the hunters out there don't even understand how MOA works. The closest they get is believing their ammo is going to magically match up with a BDC reticle somehow.

The average deer hunter could definitely do a lot worse. I'm sure the glass quality they'd get with this scope is unparalleled at this price point. If you understand maximum point blank range and take your shots accordingly, this would be a great option!

I ran a 1.5-6x42 Zenith with the Flashdot 9 for about 5 years on my 6.8 AR, killer scope..
I have the 1.5-8x42 with the #7 reticle now.. awesome hunting scopes and are FFP.
