I think a lot of people forget what your average deer looks like...

I've been noticing that too. Sure are lots of guys thinking they have a chance at giant bucks just by letting them get old....

Well, you sure can't shoot big bucks if your shooting them as 2.5 year olds

I learned a long time ago that most places I'll hunt aren't going to have those ridiculous monsters you see in so many pictures walking around....

So....I lean more towards hunting and shooting mature bucks. Yes, I'd love to shoot a monster, but I'll shoot a mature buck no matter what the size of the rack.

Young Gun....in my opinion...this would be a heck of a first deer!!! Wish you luck!

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

I think the bucks are older than what everyone's saying. The first buck is at least 4 and Id put him at 5. I'd say the other buck is 6-7 or older. Nice deer and good luck this fall.

Shoot either of those bucks if you like them. They would make an awesome first buck. My first was 3 year old 6 point and I was thrilled! Eventually if you find you want to be more selective that's your choice.

I started trying to kill only older bucks because I eventually didn't get excited to kill younger ones. As long as your following the game laws and having fun it's all good. Good luck this season. up

I'd take both if you can. The first one for looks and the second one because he needs to go.

That buck doesn't look young to me. Wait until his neck thickens up in November. Dandy deer. Great for your first. His buddy's not bad either. What part of the state?
