I have exhausted all my leads on THF and a couple of others looking for a Mule Deer Hunt in either Texas, New Mexico or Southern Colorado. If anyone knows of good reputable MD Outfitter that operates in Texas or New Mexico please shoot me a PM. Please do not link me to Outfitters here on THF because I've already gone through all these guys. Thanks for any info.

Mulie Mike aka Mike Mckinney does mule deer hunts. I have not hunted Mule deer with him, but have hunted with him several times for exotics. Always been happy with him and his guides.
His website is

I have 7 Muley tags in Baja Mexico. Most should range between 180-190. Not Texas or NM. Just throwing it out there.

They only sell management hunts, at least that's what their website says.

Thanks for the info guys, talked to most of them. A lot of them are booked this year and a couple the dates won't work out and one is just too dang expensive.
If anyone else knows a reputable MD Outfitter in Texas, New Mexico or Colorado send me a PM please.
Thanks

I think I already referred you maybe on another thread but I've hunted with Gila and Apache Outfitters several times in NM. He has some units that are guaranteed draw but you would have had to put in for them already he hunts mostly public.

Stompy I do a limited number of mule deer hunts each year in NM Unit 4 bordering the Jicarilla reservation. Its a guaranteed draw but you have to put in by deadline in march. I only do about 6 each year. Bucks average in the 170-180 class but have had opportunities each year at 200 inch bucks. People tend to watch too much tv and think a 190 inch buck is behind every bush in a "good area". I have hunted mule deer 30 years in Colorado and NM 180+ bucks are tough to find and with the vanishing mule deer population hunts are hard to find. I believe in 25 years the way things are going there wont be much mule deer hunting available in most places.

Some of you really need to read my post before posting. Once again, I've talked to Jim Wells. I did a search on here and found Outfitters that have posted on THF, I've talked to those guys, looking for someone not on THF or has posted on THF. Probably talked to 10 outfitters the past 2 days, some are booked, some the dates don't work and 1 or 2 I wouldn't hunt with. Starting to look like this may not happen.

I usually book my mule deer hunts about a year in advance. Have you checked Huntin Fool? They have alot of recommendations usually but their not gonna be cheap.

go to LongrangeHunting.com maybe something there.
you must have a very particular hunt need. Budget?? maybe the Jicarilla, Arizona or Chama hunts $10,000
keep watching as the season gets closer there will be some cancellations.

Anyone know anything about the Mule Deer hunting in Borden County Texas? 1) There's no deer in Borden County 2) I'd recommend calling the game warden, but the position is vacant at the moment 3) Ask your outfitter if they have access to irrigated cropland
