Posting this for a friend. He had this posted on Facebook. I copied it here to share it. If you have any info on this PM me and I'll get you in toutch with him. I was asked by the SAPD to repost this-so please feel free to share this where you can and be on the look out for this rifle-alert authorities if you see it-and please let me know. STOLEN Rifle!! Please be on the lookout for this one of a kind Texas Custom Rifles 300 Win Mag. It was stolen out of my locked truck while a ran a quick errand (on 6/10/17) in San Antonio, Tx. It is built on a Stiller Spectre action with a 26" barrel, Manners T4A stock, Atlas Bipod, Vortex Razor scope and many other things when combined with the unique rusty look cerakote paint make it stand out. If you see this rifle please let me know and/or alert authorities. I can assure you is not another one just like it on Earth. Barrel also is engraved with my son's name and a Bible verse that corresponds with his birthdate "Luke 8:10-15". Thank You. **Update-I've decided to offer a $1000.00 reward for the return of this rifle-with only a few questions asked and a few minor stipulations. I had this rifle built for my son, worked for well over two years to get the parts and to have the work done. #stolenrifle #texascustomrifles #mannerscompositestocks #atlasbipod #mannerst4a #cerakote #texasrust #rusty #Luke8:10-15 #vortexoptics #vortexrazorgen2 #300WM #300winmag #cerakote #rustyrifle #stillerprecision

Say your driving buy yourself and you need to stop and get gas a drink and take a wiz... you cary it in and lean it next to the urinal? yeah i'd like to see that. Some POS thief stole it, don't try and make it his fault.

there's no valid excuse for thievery.
even if it was left on the hood of the truck people shouldn't touch things they KNOW aren't theirs for any reason at any time.

Why would you walk off and leave something behind thin glass in a public setting that you usually keep locked inside a safe that's inside your home? Never move so fast that you overlook plain ole common sense. Just as I own guns that I might leave locked in my truck, I own several that I would never consider treating that way. I also make it a point not to put any decals or stickers on my truck that would give anyone the idea that I'm a gun owner. I also plan ahead so that I never wear camo or other hunting clothing into a store if I have left a gun in my truck. But then, learning not to take as many chances in life is one of those things that comes with age. Accepting personal responsibility is why it's called "learning it the hard way."

Back to redchevy's question, what would you do? If you're taking a long trip with the rifle and you have to stop for gas and a bathroom break, what would you do? His truck was locked with the rifle inside. It's not like he left the truck unlocked or the rifle lying in the bed. I couldn't tell you how many theft/burglary cases I've worked over the years in which the victims' careless actions contributed to the crimes. Those are some of the most frustrating cases because it almost amounts to the victims giving their property away. However, this doesn't appear to be one of those cases. The thieving POS is to blame here, not the victim. OP, I hope your friend gets his rifle back, losing something like that to a thief really sucks.

Thieves are pieces of garbage!
I am still looking for the perfect apron, one with reinforced knee areas would be perfect.

Be honest, If that was your weapon, would you have left it in a truck unprotected??

Obviously, the fault lies with the scumbag thieve that stole the gun. That said I never leave a firearm in an unattended vehicle. I drive 6 hours to the ranch, alone, often. I can make it there on a full tank but if I stop for fuel, I stay at the pump. I pack a few drinks and piss in an empty bottle if the need arises. Again, not blaming the victim but it's the world we live in.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.
