This pup is just waiting for the call to go to work. He may not be as big as a rabbit yet but he could still make one move if given the chance. He'll get that chance this winter

Great looking pup. Is he a beagle?
I had a bluetick colored just like him when I was a kid.

Beagles are really cool dogs. The 1st puppy my dad ever bought me was a beagle and his name was lucky. He was an awesome hunter and a great companion. I've never owned one since as we've always had bird dogs since up until 2006, but I have alot of good memories as a little kid with him in the early 70's.

My first dog was a male beagle named buster. I got him when I was about 8 years old. I'd take him out behind our house in a big field and he'd track rabbits and chase them to their holes and I'd shoot sparrows and whatever else I could kick up. He died when I was about 22. He was a great dog. Good luck with your pup!

I have a good line of these bluetick beagles that have great mouths and can really move a rabbit. Even though he is one of the prettiest pups that I've ever seen of any breed he is bred to hunt first and look good second.

MY MAN! MY MAN! We need to get together and talk. I've been wanting some blue ticks for 30 years. I'm a hunter first as well. Just curious, but are you able to register blue ticked beagles? Not that it matters any.

Yes they are AKC registered and eligible for field trials, shows, breeding etc. I keep them here in North Texas to hunt with. My kids get to hunt more than I do and I never have to worry about them when they are out in the pastures running rabbits with the hounds.

Yeah, my dad bought me my first two at 15 and never worried about what I was doing ever again. I ended up going through 5 the first year as one got lost, one died and one didn't pan out. I bred the two remaining females the next spring and kept 6 pups that started that fall. Man they were full of hunt! After I joined the military at 18, things went south. Bad breeding and training decimated my pack. I got out of the game when I turned them out on a rabbit at the edge of the yard, and not one dog showed interest in running. I still have about 9 years left in Cen-Tex, before I retire and return to La. I will definitely be looking to buy when I go back home.
