We are headed to Caddo Lake State Park the weekend of April 24. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. We like homestyle breakfasts, fried catfish, steakhouses et cetera. Thanks in advance.

Headed to my part of the world.

Big Pines, on Caddo, has really good catfish and frog legs. That's the only place I ever eat out that way. Jefferson has quite a few good places as well. Riverport BBQ is great, the Stillwater Inn, The Hamburger store, Auntie Skinners (resturant and bar at night) has a really good breakfast.

I can't think of a better place for canoeing anywhere. Have fun and get a map of the lake if you've never been there before.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am ready to get down that way, I haven't been in years.

If your are gonna be at the state park, then head north a few miles. Not real sure of the name of the place but it is on the water and their hushpuppies are the best I have ever eaten. Their catfish was very tasty also. Tried the steak too, pretty good. Have fun at a beautiful lake.

That's Big Pines.

One of the friendliest places I have ever eat. One big family restaurant. Love the view of the water too.
The fish and fixins were great too.

Big Pines Lodge. ....home made jalapeno hush-puppies and home-made coleslaw. Get the all-you-can-eat whole catfish.
